UNILIA RECEIVES GRANT YOUTH ENTERPRISE GRANT

The University of Livingstonia was one of several organizations and institutions to receive a grant to boost youth enterprises in Malawi. The support has been made under the TAGDev Youth Enterprise Grant Programme today during a consortium of various stakeholders. Other recipients included public universities: MUST, LUANAR, MZUNI,and other partners.

In her remarks, Sarah Tione, Director of Research at LUANAR said the program aims at strengthening youth-led enterprises. According to Tione, the beneficiaries have been urged to work with cooperatives and smallholder farmers who supply raw materials. Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries, Chisomo Aliko Joshua has expressed gratitude with the donation, saying it will help to boost her business. Some of the supported enterprises include businesses producing soy flour, soy milk and soy yoghurt.
